General Responsibilities
The Behavior Analyst (BA) is responsible for the development of clinical and educational programming. The BA will develop and conduct individual behavioral assessments and develop students' behavior support plans. The BA will oversee the implementation of the students' behavior support plan, data collection and frequent data review. The BA will ensure that the programs are appropriate to the ages and populations served. These services are provided in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatric and health care services. The behavior analyst will maintain regular communication with parents and facilitate family training. The BA will provide staff with training and evaluation ensuring consistent implementation of client specific programming.

Schedule: Monday- Friday day shift

Starting Salary: $75,920.00 ( ) based on years of experience

School Program:

The Melmark School is an approved private school, licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education specializing in serving students, ages five to 21, who require an intensive, individualized educational approach with a behavioral focus designed in an educationally appropriate learning environment due to a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorders and other intellectual and developmental disabilities, which may be secondary to complex behavioral profiles.

Children's RTF Program:

Melmark Pennsylvania’s Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) is a neurobehavioral program specializing in the assessment and treatment of severe and treatment-resistant challenging behavior for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders and other intellectual and developmental disabilities. The goal of the RTF is to help each child attain the highest level of personal growth, achievement, and independence by decreasing challenging behaviors and facilitating the reunification of the individual with his or her family in a less restrictive environment.

Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Clinical Psychology or a closely related field. Significant experience and training in functional behavior assessment, preference assessments, and the application of behavior analytic interventions for students with significant intellectual/developmental disabilities and severe challenging behavior. Experience in a school setting and/or special education emphasis preferable.
Certifications/Licensure: Successful completion of employer provided certification in CPR, First Aid and Crisis Prevention/Intervention. A valid US Driver's license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Certification as a BCBA required, or must be eligible to sit for exam within 1 year of hiring. Preference given to applicants who already possess this certification.
Skill(s): Strong background in education, with an emphasis on special education and the special needs and requirements of individuals with acquired brain injury, neurological disorders and autism spectrum disorders. Experience with the principles and application of Applied Behavior Analysis.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years teaching and supervising experience in a special education setting.
